St. Clare's Closet is a family-owned business founded in 2011 by Elizabeth Stockhauser. In 2026, Emily Waddell took over the business after being a valued member of the team for many years, continuing its tradition of quality craftsmanship and personalized service.
Our team is passionate about helping every customer look and feel their best through expert alterations and custom design. Built on creativity, self-expression, and a love for our craft, we take pride in completing every project with careful precision and attention to detail while serving our community with excellence.
Meet The Team

Emily Waddell
Owner & Designer
Emily studied Costume Design and Construction at the University of Cincinnati, where she developed her passion for garment craftsmanship and design. With nine years of experience in bridal alterations and custom design, she loves creating gowns that make each client feel confident, comfortable, and truly themselves. Emily is passionate about providing an exceptional customer experience and building a team environment rooted in creativity, support, and a shared love for the craft.

Zac Waddell
Business Manager
Zac studied Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati and spent over 10 years working as a sports and wedding videographer. He joined Emily at St. Clare’s Closet, where he uses his creative and technical skills to support the business through website development, booking systems, and social media. Zac is passionate about storytelling, creating meaningful connections, and helping share the artistry and craftsmanship behind St. Clare’s Closet with the community.

Samantha Shelton
Alteration Specialist & Designer
Sam earned a degree in Fashion Design from Ball State University, where she focused on modular, inclusive, and sustainable garment construction. She is passionate about innovative design, unique concepts, and the artistry of garment structure. Sam is dedicated to helping every client feel comfortable, confident, and represented through thoughtfully crafted garments. In her free time, she enjoys designing custom corsets and exploring avant-garde, conceptual fashion that pushes the boundaries of creativity.

Maria DeHoff
Alteration Specialist & Designer
Maria began sewing as a child, creating doll clothes with her mother before learning to design and construct garments of her own. She has spent the past 21 years working in bridal alterations, helping hundreds of clients achieve the perfect fit. With experience creating costumes for belly dance performances and Renaissance festivals, Maria continues to explore her love of unique designs and fabrics. She is passionate about helping each client express their individuality through clothing that fits beautifully and reflects their personal style.

Kalia Yager
Alteration Specialist & Designer
Kalia earned a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design from the University of Cincinnati. She is passionate about creating garments that reflect exceptional quality, craftsmanship, and timeless design. Believing that thoughtful design and meticulous construction are the foundation of every meaningful piece, Kalia approaches each project with creativity and precision. Her greatest passion is designing dresses that help women feel confident, beautiful, and authentically themselves. Through careful attention to detail and a commitment to excellence, she strives to create garments that leave a lasting impression.
